With Years struggling with addiction. I was blessed by my friends in the fellowship to help me arrive at Curawest! Thinking I was going to stay just for detox, I decided to stay for the residential program all because the Friendly, Profesional caring Staff. With the Executive Director Brian’s Vision and twelve step concept. Shea and the entire team of compassionate people. I was able to concur things I’ve struggled with for a lifetime. Keep up the great work team! I look forward to a great life in RECOVERY!
An amazing facility with a wonderful and helpful staff. Could not recommend enough if you are in search of help.
I was pleasantly surprised at Curawest’s down home feel. They are highly professional and at the same time have a smile and kind word for everyone. The staff of competent people doing their jobs in sometimes difficult situations impressed me. Though very much a Hospital setting as far as difficult and complex. The staff work to treat each patient with respect and dignity. Whenever a concern was present there was always a solution found to remedy it. The cleaning staff and food service personnel blew me away with their kindness. Always a smile. The staff work together to fill gaps when needed and all the therapists and instructors brought creative and informative classes daily. Would recommend to anyone who need to start their sober life start at Curawest.
Ive been to my fair share of treatment centers and this is one of the best by far between the medical staff, BHTs, and the therapist. This was my experience and I've managed to remain clean and sober since...I did the 10 day detox as MEDICAID DOES COVER THIS! I'm not saying I didn't cry my eyes out the first night and wanted to leave but I AM SO GLAD I STAYED!!!!! The nursing and medical staff ( shout out to Tia!) was amazing. The nursing staff was compassionate and I mean EVERY SINGLE ONE. Kristen is a favorite of everyone there and mine! The BHTs man, THEY GOT ME THROUGH my day to day big or insignificant struggles. Majority of people that work in these departments of CuraWest are in recovery and understand the struggle. A special shout out to Nick P, Collin, Jaci, and Cas for making this experience not only bearable for me but enjoyable and I will never forget those I just listed.... the compassion they had for anyone that walks in that door is just really exceptional and I hope anyone reading this has the chance to meet them. My therapist Taylor (female) was exceptional. She always took the time thought not every therapist I meet with did. Taylor not took extra time for my needs but also helped me view in ways I wasn't capable of looking at them. Last but certainly not least shout out to Kila who is a BOSS woman that really makes sure ANYTHING you need to handle in your outside while in treatment GETS HANDLED so YOU can focus on YOU. To everyone I listed thank you and I will see you all in a years time when I am hoping to be in a position to help others as they helped me...
After spending time at this facility I have so much respect for the staff and their commitment to educating myself and my peers in our recovery. I have felt the staff genuinely cares and is highly involved, and I have made connections that will certainly help me out long term.
This is my second time here at CuraWest. If you or you know someone who is in need of help with whatever kind of addiction, I Highly recommend coming here!! They also help with finding treatment programs after you leave here and it's not just for detox, you can also do the residential program also which I also Highly recommend. ALL of the staff including the kitchen staff is great and the food it great too. So yes I give CuraWest 5 stars!!!
Very comfortable, clean and professional place. Cura is well staffed by trained and caring professionals. I would refer anyone that is struggling with addiction here to get a solid start on their recovery journey.
I had a very pleasant experience at this facility the detox process was amazing so much help and the medications they had me on where great the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable about addiction and the road to recovery I would highly recommend this spot if you are looking to detox or take it a step further and do residential it’s just all around an amazing place.
CuraWest is a wonderful place with a great staff, who are all dedicated to helping you achieve your full potential. The accommodations are great, rooms are either single or doubles with comfortable beds. The cooking staff does a great job preparing a variety of meals that are nutritious and taste great. The clinical staff is stocked with great therapists all of which lead a few groups a week, allowing you to get to know all of them. This is wonderful so that if your therapist is sick of out of office you feel comfortable reaching out to one of the other therapists if you need anything. The tech and nursing staffs are also great. They are always available 24/7 for any of your needs wether lifestyle or medical.CuraWest was critical in me getting sober and it was an extremely pleasant place to do it. I would absolutely recommend to anyone who is looking for a residential treatment center for substance use disorder.Thank you CuraWest!

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! We work with most major insurance providers. We offer free no-obligation insurance benefit checks for those who are interested in our program. Unfortunately medicaid and medicare do not cover our facility.

CuraWest – Detox & Recovery Center is located in the heart of Denver, Colorado. At:

2535 S Downing St
Suite 500
Denver, CO 80210

Often traveling out of your home town is the best option for treatment. The temptation to leave early and relapse is much lower when you are away from the people and places that are associated with your substance use. CuraWest offers a complimentary car service for individuals in the surrounding areas who are interested in coming to the program. If you are traveling out of state for detox or residential treatment, we are able to help coordinate a flight and reliable transportation to/from the airport. Please note — the cost of transportation services such as airfare are the financial responsibility of the client.

Admissions is quick and easy. Once you call our admissions team one of our dedicated counselors will perform a pre-assessment over the phone . This takes about 10 minutes and just makes sure CuraWest is the best fit for you or your loved ones individual needs. After the assessment we will verify insurance benefits and arrange a time for your intake (this can be as quick as 30 minutes from the initial call). If you need a ride to the facility we will dispatch one of our drivers and you will begin your recovery at our facility. It is that easy. To get started call us 24/7 at (888) 687-5118.

Once admitted to our program, clients are encouraged to complete a Release of Information (ROI) form for friends, family, employers, etc. Due to HIPPA laws we are not allowed to confirm or deny any patient’s attendance at our facility without a signed release of information. These laws are in place to protect the privacy of those who are seeking help. If your loved one did not complete an ROI, what we can do is take down your name and information as well as any message you have. If the person you are needing to contact is at our facility we will make sure they receive the message as soon as possible and ask to set-up a ROI for you.

We offer programs lengths individualized for each client. Generally detox is anywhere from 3 and 10 days and the residential portion of our program is between 3 and 21 days. These are estimates and are adjusted to meet the needs of the individual client.

During detox access to laptops and cell phones are restricted. However, special arrangements can be made for individuals who need to conduct business or important personal matters. For clients who are self employed, we do offer an executive program that allows for cellphone and laptop access in certain cases during business hours. Clients are able to make phone calls to loved ones during the residential portion of our program, but cell phone use is restricted. We encourage our clients to focus all of their attention on healing by eliminating potential distractions.

We accept adults ages 18 or over.

While we strongly discourage leaving before treatment completion, we are not a lockdown facility. Clients are in our program voluntary and may leave when they want. Once a client transitions into the residential portion of our program, they will have the opportunity to participate in group outings.

Clients who need to take off work to attend treatment may be eligible for the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). FMLA ensures that you will not be terminated while taking a leave of absences from work to attend treatment. Our admissions and case management staff can help with setting up any FMLA paperwork. For clients who are self employed, we do offer an executive program that allows for cellphone and laptop access in certain cases during business hours.

We do offer private bedrooms, however these rooms are on a first come first serve basis.

Yes. Tobacco products are allowed in our facility. However we do not allow electronic cigarettes (vapes).

Absolutely. We understand that addiction affects the entire family system and encourage families to participate in their loved one’s treatment. To help families recover we also offer intervention services, case management, and family workshops.

Yes. We believe in complete and total confidentiality and privacy for all of our clients. We take extra measures to make sure we go above and beyond HIPAA and health privacy standards. If you are concerned about specific privacy requirements please feel free to reach out and we can answer your questions.

The CuraWest detoxification and residential addiction treatment cost can be covered by most health insurance companies. If you are uninsured or underinsured, CuraWest will create a customized payment plan based on your individual needs and length of stay.

If you’re wondering if you or your loved one needs treatment chances are someone needs help.  Before admission into our program we offer a pre-assessment to determine if clients meet criteria for admissions to treatment. To complete a complementary pre-assessment please call our admissions team at (888) 687-5118

During detox, medication is used to ease withdrawal from the drugs or alcohol that clients have been using. The types of medication used are determined by our medical team based on the needs of the client. Common medications used for opiate detox are suboxone and clonidine. Alcohol and benzodiazepines are commonly detoxed using librium, gabapentin and baclofen. If you have questions about detox medication please contact our admissions team 24/7 at (888) 687-5118. During the residential portion of our program, the administration of essential medications will be closely monitored. We do not offer MAT at this time.
