Guiding You Along the Path to Recovery

Since 2002, The Plymouth House has been providing individuals and their families hope for a better life, free from addiction. We are not a treatment center in the traditional sense of the term. We are a 12-Step retreat, nestled in the gorgeous foothills of the White Mountains, where individuals come to disconnect and dive deep into working the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Professional Team

Our team of caring medical, clinical and recovery professionals has decades of combined experience providing individuals with the healing necessary for long-term recovery.

Comprehensive Services

We offer a range of therapeutic services among several distinct levels of care, including medical detox, residential treatment, and partial hospitalization. Our full continuum of care ensures the best chance at lasting recovery.

Recovery Experts

The Plymouth House has two decades of experience guiding individuals through the 12-Steps of recovery. Many of our 12-Step practitioners are Plymouth House graduates themselves.

Beautiful Facility

The Plymouth House is a 7-acre campus on a 60-acre property in the foothills of the White Mountains. It is an idyllic place to seek recovery and healing.

As can be expected, I was afraid and unsure when arriving at The Plymouth House. The welcome and open warmth of the community, both the guests and staff, was incredible and helpful. The program is well rounded with both 12-step AA education, and clinical psychological education and treatment.

The Plymouth house, has saved my life. The clinical directors and staff are so talented at their jobs. If you are serious about getting sober and ready to start your journey they’re here to support you every step of the way and provide you all of the resources that you need. I’m incredibly blessed to have had treatment at the Plymouth house. I don’t know where I would be without it I would 100% recommend any of my family or friends. They’re extremely considerate of your family and friends and keep in contact with him the whole time letting them know your progress if you would so desire. They are extremely Professional, and they’re here to truly help. Don’t wait make the call.Katie, Hillary, John, Kayla, and Chelsea I owe it all to you Thank you for supporting me and believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself. Are you or your loved one ready to surrender? This is it! It’s challenging for me to call Plymouth House a rehab. I love the idea of calling it a Spiritual Community. The family feel comes into play instantly upon your arrival. You can tell the staff has your best interest in mind. It’s extremely refreshing knowing that most of the staff are in long term recovery themselves. When it comes to addiction, no one understands recovery better than someone who has been there. Your success is valued at Plymouth House. You are treated more than a patient. They refer to you as a guest and treat you in such a manner. Before your departure, they will give you a plan of action for after your stay.Friendly reminder: Your success is valued here. This is a huge opportunity for those who aresick and tired.

The Plymouth House is THE place to go if you are striving for sobriety. From walking in on your first day to saying goodbye everyone is met with their own team of people who support their journey. The rooms are rehab chic, super nice and the food is homemade every day and the coffee is surprisingly delicious. I had an amazing experience here and would tell anyone to go here if there’s a need/want to do so.

A safe place to recover from whatever addiction you may have. Being here twice the staff was there with open arms despite my circumstances. One thing I’d like to highlight about this special place is the Tech Staff. Always making sure the guests are taken care of down to the smallest detail. Being a long term guest here this was crucial in the beginning of my stay and imperative for continued recovery. Knowing how hard they work to keep this place moving, I would highly recommend this treatment center to anyone trying to turn their life away from drugs and alcohol.

The Plymouth house saved my life and gave me the tools and a new perspective on living in Sobriety and not simply living sober. If you are really ready to change your life and give your family peace of mind now and in the future I cannot recommend a better place. The staff is wonderful and the campus is beautiful. But you get out what you put in. Invest in you and your families lives and find a new life at TPH.

My Plymouth House experience has far exceeded my expectations. This place has something serene in the air. I came here broken and scared and lost with so much grief that I couldn’t touch on. With the gentle care of all the staff, I felt safe and was able to open up on the loss of my son, feeling loving and compassion from everyone. I would 100 % recommend Plymouth House to anyone who struggles from addiction to basically anything.

I can’t say enough about the Plymouth house facility. I came here with a gift of desperation and I’m leaving after 40 days a new person, a new outlook and excited about my recovery journey. The staff here are incredibly attentive, professional, and everyone I touched, answered my questions thoroughly and made me feel welcome. The grounds are beautiful. You can walk around and meditate in the beautiful New Hampshire air And connect spiritually as the property has a special feel almost like hollowed ground. Finally the chapel is the centerpiece. it is beautifully done and gives a complete spiritual experience no matter what Faith or believe. I would highly recommend Plymouth house to anyone who is looking to dive deep into the 12 steps and reconnect, spiritually, and physically with the gym and yoga class to reenergizing mentally and physically.Thank you Plymouth house. I will never forget you and will have the next person up!

I went to the Plymouth house around 2018. Just celebrated 5 years of sobriety last week and that was largely due to attending the Plymouth house. It truly changed my life ! I highly recommend this rehab for anyone struggling with substance abuse . It is a very special place . Hope to visit sometime soon when I’m back east .

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! We work with most major insurance providers. We offer free no-obligation insurance benefit checks for those who are interested in our program. Our treatment advisors will speak with your insurer, get a detailed verification of your insurance benefits, and share those details with you. Unfortunately medicaid and medicare do not cover our facility.

The Plymouth House is located in Plymouth, New Hampshire. Our campus sits in the foothills of White Mountain National Forest. We are approximately 2 hours north of Boston, Massachusetts, and 2 hours west of Portland, Maine. Our address is:

446 Main St
Plymouth, NH 03264

Often traveling out of your home town is the best option for treatment. The temptation to leave early or experience relapse triggers is much lower when you are away from the people and places you associate with your substance abuse. The Plymouth House helps coordinate local ground transportation. If needed we can also help you book a flight and help you find reliable transportation to/from the airport so that you can safely and comfortably reach our facility.*

*Please note that the cost of transportation services, such as airfare, are the financial responsibility of our clients.

Our admissions process is quick and easy. Once you call us, one of our experienced Treatment Advisors will perform a brief pre-assessment. This takes about 10 minutes and will help you determine if The Plymouth House is the best fit for you or your loved one. After the assessment we will verify insurance benefits and arrange a time for your intake. The Plymouth House does not offer medical detox services, but we are happy to help you arrange for a medical detox before transferring to our facility. We have excellent working relationships with multiple medical detox centers in the area, and in other states. Once you have been safely detoxed, we will help you transition into our program. If you need a ride to the facility we will dispatch one of our drivers to pick you up and you will begin your recovery at our facility.

We encourage family members to be involved in their loved one’s treatment process. We offer regular visiting hours year-round with the following stipulations:

  • Visitation is on Saturdays from 2-4:30pm.
  • Plymouth House guests must fill out a visitation request slip for each person they wish to visit by Wednesday at noon for Saturday visitation. All visitors must be approved before Saturday.
  • We ask that visitors be limited to family members and those instrumental to the recovery of our guests.
  • All visitors must sign in at the main office upon arrival and at departure.
  • Any items visitors bring to guests must first be inspected and approved by staff.
  • Visitors are not allowed in the guest rooms or lounges.

We offer programs lengths individualized for each client. The duration of each treatment program is adjusted to meet the needs of the individual client.

During residential treatment and PHP, access to laptops and cell phones are restricted. However, special arrangements can be made for individuals who need to conduct business or important personal matters.

We accept adults ages 18 or over.

While we strongly discourage leaving before treatment completion, we are not a lockdown facility. Our guests are in our program voluntarily and may leave when they choose. While in the Residential Inpatient program, guests are not allowed off grounds except when escorted by staff. While in the Partial Hospitalization portion of our program, guests are also able to leave the grounds when accompanied by a staff member.

Clients who need to take off work to attend treatment may be eligible for the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). FMLA ensures that you will not be terminated while taking a leave of absences from work to attend treatment. Our admissions and case management staff can help with setting up any FMLA paperwork. For clients who are self employed, we do offer an executive program that allows for cellphone and laptop access in certain cases during business hours.

Clients will reside in comfortable, semi-private bedrooms during residential treatment and PHP. At this time, we do not offer single-occupancy bedrooms.

Yes. Tobacco products are allowed in our facility. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas.

Absolutely. We understand that addiction affects the entire family system and encourage families to participate in their loved one’s treatment. To help families recover we also offer intervention services, case management, and family workshops.

Yes. We believe in complete and total confidentiality and privacy for all of our clients. We take extra measures to make sure we go above and beyond HIPAA and health privacy standards. If you are concerned about specific privacy requirements please feel free to reach out and we can answer your questions.

The cost of treatment varies from person-to-person based on the level of treatment needed. The good news is that The Plymouth House works with many health insurance companies to provide treatment to individuals at a manageable cost.
