Guardian Opens New Outpatient Addiction Treatment Facility in Hoboken, New Jersey

The new location will serve individuals throughout New Jersey and the New York City metropolitan area

On July 12 Guardian Recovery Network officially opened its doors to clients at a gorgeous new intensive outpatient facility in Hoboken, New Jersey. The new facility is located approximately 15 minutes north of Jersey City, just across the water from lower Manhattan. A PATH station is just a few blocks away, making the facility an easy commute for clients from many surrounding areas including the New York City metropolitan area. Clients can easily attend work or school while attending treatment at Guardian. The Hoboken facility is Guardian’s second IOP facility in New Jersey, following the opening of Guardian’s IOP other facility in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

“We are so excited to add Hoboken to our growing roster of quality addiction treatment programs in New Jersey,” said Amanda Hilzer, Executive Director of New Jersey Operations for Guardian Recovery Network. “This beautiful new location will allow us to serve individuals in New Jersey and the NYC metropolitan area. We look forward to helping our clients transform their lives.”

What is Intensive Outpatient?

Intensive outpatient (IOP) is a model of treatment that allows clients to attend to their daily lives and responsibilities at the same time as attending treatment. IOP is an excellent option for individuals graduating from a residential inpatient or partial hospitalization facility to continue their treatment and slowly reintegrate into the world-at-large. IOP can also serve as a standalone treatment option for individuals who either don’t require a higher level of care, or who cannot commit to a more time-consuming program due to life circumstances. Intensive outpatient programs typically meet several days a week, for several hours at a time. The program consists of intense individual, group and family therapy, recovery education, life skills training, case management and holistic healing practices, including breathwork, guided meditation and yoga with an instructor who has a clinical background and counseling license.

Both New Jersey IOP location will also offer medication assisted treatment for clients who desire medical aid in their recovery. These medications could include prescriptions that help fight cravings, prevent relapse and aid in emotional stability. Examples could include Suboxone maintenance, Vivitrol, Antabuse, antidepressants and antianxiety medications. Every client will have the benefit of regular medical follow up and medication management appointments.

IOP groups teach individuals how to be sober in the real world, form meaningful relationships, heal from past emotional wounds, transform old behavioral patterns, connect with a community of other recovering individuals and empower themselves to build new lives free from addiction.
