ADDICTION TREATMENT NEWS | In April Guardian Recovery Network (GRN) participated in the Hanley Foundation’s 2021 Golf Tournament at the Banyan Cay Resort & Golf Club in West Palm Beach. The tournament raised funds for Hanley’s Lifesaver Scholarship Program, which provides addiction treatment scholarships for individuals struggling with substance use disorders.
Quality addiction treatment can be very expensive, especially for individuals who either don’t have health insurance or are underinsured. In 2021, the Hanley Foundation was on track to provide more than 300 individuals with scholarships for addiction treatment programs.
Guardian Recovery Network supported the golf tournament as a “Birdie Sponsor” donating $5,000 to the scholarship fund. GRN’s President & COO, Marco Merida, played in the golf tournament along with GRN’s National Director Of Detox Operations, Kevin Creighton, and GRN vendor partner, Joe Leibovich.
The Hanley Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to substance abuse prevention. The organization was started in 1998 with the vision of providing evidence-based prevention programming to children and adolescents in Palm Beach County. The organization quickly grew its programming and last year provided nearly $1 million in prevention and education services in Florida, impacting the lives of nearly 30,000 students, parents and caregivers. The foundation also has been actively working with community leaders to shatter the stigma of addiction on the local, state and national level.
Guardian Recovery Network is a natural comrade in Hanley’s mission to help individuals struggling with substance use disorders.
“We were happy to support The Hanley Foundation and the wonderful work they do,” said Merida. “Their motto — to ‘break the family cycle of addiction before it begins’ — is something Guardian Recovery Network fully supports.”
The Hanley Foundation hosts many annual fundraising and educational events. To learn more about The Hanley Foundation, visit them online at hanleyfoundation.org.
